Variety of articles was fascinating!, 2008-03-20 This is the first issue of Wired I've read. Couldn't believe the variety of articles: 1)Why companies are "selling" product for free;2)Autism from the inside view; 3)The re-floating of a capsized cargo ship..carrying over 4,000 Mazdas by a salvage company..and so on. Had to read it cover to cover..am now a subscriber.
Wired, 2008-01-24 Ordered this subscription for my brother-in-law for Christmas. He's already received his 1st issue and reports that he likes it a lot. Good enough for me!
gift, 2008-01-19 This purchase was a gift for my boyfriend for Christmas. So I don't really know what it is like, though he was very excited about getting it and couldn't wait for it to arrive in the mail.

Never received, 2008-01-17 I've seen three different Wired issues come and go at the bookstore, and I haven't received a single issue at home. Since Amazon doesn't handle customer service, they bounced me back and forth between them: Conde Naste didn't receive the order, Amazon doesn't have a record of it (except in my order history) and in general the fulfillment process on this purchase has been lacking.

Better Than It Was., 2008-01-07 First, you don't have to be a computer geek or nerd to enjoy this magazine. I am not fond of these overused generalizations. How many of us could cross over or fit into many odd & often out of date labels? This magazine is mainly forward looking about technology, electronics, & computers. I found that I like it more now than a few years ago. The quality & style has improved. It could always have less advertising, but that is not likely.
This is a very different type of resource, which is refreshing. It is aimed at a more diverse audience, it mixes technology, politics, & aspects of what we call "pop culture." I have often thought that the latter term is oxymoronic? It varies from 170-250 pages per issue. These are its various departments. Rants & Raves: it has features & letters to the editor. Start: brief articles on electronics, science business people, architecture, art, & politics. Play: video games, cars, books, music, & entertainment media. Posts: articles on the internet, technology, & business. Found: is one page at the end of each issue subtitled as "Artifacts From The Future."
The remainder of the magazine contains 7-8 articles of varied length & quality. With more details about business, technology, philosophy, & politics. Some articles are not always very clear & seem out of place, or unfinished. This magazine still suffers a bit from a lack of tying up loose ends. But, on the whole it is worth reading for the diversity of its contents.
