 Best gaming magazine out there!, 2002-01-12
EGM is a wonderful magazine. They have great news stories, informative special features every month, a nice format for previews, cheat codes, and the reader feedback section, and HUGE contests (most recently, the massive console giveaway for their holiday contest). They also have the best review system of all the gaming magazines (well, maybe except for PC Gamer). Instead of just one biased five-star score or a bunch of ridiculous faces (coughGAMEPROcough), three different reviewers rate the game from 1-10 (in .5 increments). This gives you a well-rounded opinion on the game. And best of all, unlike the recently canned Next Generation (good riddance), EGM is (for the most part) unbiased. They don't automatically rave about Metal Gear Solid 2 as being the best game ever long before it's released, nor do they completely ignore Nintendo (NextGen refused to even review Pokemon games or most N64 games, and they had zero Game Boy coverage). Though they've made some hair-brained decisions, (like saying Xbox was better than Gamecube, which, as most serious gamers know by now, is not true), remember that nobody's perfect, and that their overall quality makes up for occasionally questionable decisions. If you own more than 1 current gaming console (and even if you only have 1), this is the magazine for you.

Great magazine, 2001-12-31
EGM(Electric Gaming Monthly) is a great magizine for all kinds of games. They review and preview nearly all games that come to the consoles. They give their un-biased opionin so you always know if the game [stinks] or is a must buy. Not only does the magizine review games but it has tons of extra things too. Things like "where are they now", which talks about the creators of old games, codes and other things. This is the only gaming magazine I would read to get truthful reviews.

this is one of the best gameing mags out their. it has every thing you could posibly want from a mag. loger aticles for the better games and shorter ones for the games that well dont deserve a longer article. it has humor, from the e-mails and also in the reveiws. its a great mag

The funniest and most informative video game magazine, 2001-12-06
in fact, even if you don't like video games, this is still a good magazine. it is hilarious and has a bunch of great feature articles. plus, they dont just say things like "this is good for some people, but (the competition) is good for other people" they tell u what is the best system and which are the best games. in short: they actually help u make educated purchases instead of always being positive.

EGM is a fantastic magazine, 2001-12-05
Electronic Gaming Monthly is my favorite magazine. It has completely unbiased reviews, it gives good and interesting information, and it's organized, unlike some OTHER gaming magazines (...). EGM is often the first magazine to get exclusive news, they have extensive coverage of games, game shows, news in the gaming world, and in every issue have interviews with gaming bigshots. They aren't afraid to tell you which system to buy, like in their XBOX vs GCN feature, they came right out and said "And the winner is: XBOX!! instead of saying "It's a draw!" or something dumb that other magazines would do. They tell you which games are groundbreakingly superb, and which games (...) that should be avoided at all costs. Overall, EGM is a fair, honest, and funny (Hsu and Chan) magazine that should be purchased by anyone considering themselves a gamer.
