Another great workout video, 2003-08-22 I lack flexibility and this video was a great buy. It's a great video for beginners. I've improved my flexibility and I feel peaceful and serene. The instructor isn't annnoying at all; in fact she really helps make the inner peace come out. Great video.

Yoga for Dummies, 2003-08-13 I tried a yoga class a couple of years ago and didn't like it. I thought it was just sitting in uncomfortable positions for as long as you could stand it. With this DVD, I've learned to love it. In just a few weeks of doing the workout every other day I can see improvement. I find myself looking forward to my yoga time. I'm alternating it with the Pilates for Dummies workout which is a great combination for me - someone who hates to workout but knows the health benefits.

Great for Beginners!, 2003-07-30 I recently began exercising regularly to lose weight and get fit. I was curious about yoga for a while, but never got around to trying it. I purchased the Basic Yoga Workout for Dummies thinking this would be perfect for me, because I had never done Yoga and was totally clueless as to where to start. Sara Ivanhoe is a great instructor. She starts off slowly and shows you how to do each move. She takes time to set up each pose correctly so that you get the most out of each one. Although the video is basically for beginners, there are also modifications you can work up to. I have to say, after using the video for about a month I feel more flexible and strong. I wasn't planning on using this video to lose weight, but I think it has helped me achieve my goal of becoming more flexible, which has been beneficial to my exercise routine. The reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is because after a few weeks I started fast forwarding the first part of the video where she explains breathing and how to set up each pose. Other than that, I think its a great start for beginners, and those who have never done Yoga in their life. I can't wait until I am able to work up to Sara's next Yoga video
Good Beginning For A Novice, 2003-07-27 I am new to yoga and found this DVD very helpful in starting a practice.

Basic Yoga Workout for Dummies, 2003-06-09 I really like this workout. It helps me to reach my goals when doing yoga: stretch, flexibility, relaxation. What I like best about this workout is that it is very informative and is not overly "spiritual." I am a Christian, and I did not want to be practicing guided meditation. There is a final relaxation pose, but she lets you focus on what you want to, instead of telling you what relaxes you. The only thing that keeps me from giving this dvd 5 stars is the "dummies" format itself can get annoying. It's not very relaxing to have icons pop up and make a silly noise when you are trying to relax. Yet, it does have a "begin" cue, so if you want to mute the dvd and do the workout to your own music, that is an option. Overall, this seems to be an excellent program and Sarah Ivanhoe is very professional and a good instructor.
