This one Is the best for young toddlers, 2002-02-03
I have purchased several titles for my 17 month old, and I always come away wishing I could write my own software just for him. He's very bright and already knows his alphabet, shapes, colors and numbers so when I purchased software I was specifically looking for something that would teach him to use the mouse. This is the best tool for that. We got him a track ball and he's able to operate this program more or less independently, although he occasionally gets stuck and says, "Sumpin' new!" We recently purchase Mickey Mouse Toddler and it's not nearly as good by comparison. He's got reasonably good mouse control, but we still have to give him the keyboard for Mickey.

    tons of fun, 2002-01-29
I purchased several software packages, including this one, for my thirteen month old daughter. This is the only one that she is crazy about. She doesn't like the baby programs, but loves the toddler programs. Over the last two months, she has learned how to use the mouse (particularly with the painting program), she will say "bubbles" to go to the bubble castle, she imitates the animal sounds and she can even (sort of) manipulate between the programs. I highly recommend this software.

    Good purchase, 2002-01-28
We bought this for our 2 1/2 yr. old son to help introduce him to using the mouse and educational software. He had some familiarity having played a couple of computer games, but this definitely helped. He was glued to it for the first few days, but his interest waned as he began mastering some of the programs. He will still ask to "play" it a couple of times a week and he continues to learn. He especially enjoyed matching the shapes (Sky Shapes?) and caught onto it very quickly. The only drawback of that particular "game" is that the same things are repeated many times over, but that seemed to bother me more than him. Initially he had difficulty with the letter matching train, but now does it without any problem; therefore, I know he's learning from it. He also enjoys matching the baby animal with it's mom/dad and freeing the animal from the bubbles. I personally think the one "game" where you find the animal with the flashlight is limited. I find that he doesn't select that very often. He enjoys the coloring, but not as much as other selections. We feel that this software has done what we were hoping - helped our toddler become familiar with using the mouse, become familiar with educational software, and improve his letter/number identification and counting skills. And he has fun doing all of it.

    Great first software program, 2001-12-09
I worked in a children's library and I saw so many children learn how to use a mouse from using this program. Two year olds grasped the concept of "when I move the mouse, I can make this happen" so quickly with the fun, fun, fun interactive games for toddlers. I now have a 2 year old of my own who has been able to play some of the games here for close to a year now. I have to agree with the amazon.com reviewer on everything but the fact that I think Rainbow Rock is the best part of the program. It is the best way for kids to learn, not their colors, but how to work the mouse as they move the "crayon" over the picture, coloring it in. When the picture is finished, a (mostly) catchy tune is played. My daughter loves this and so did every 2, 3, 4, and even 5 year old in the library who would use it. I highly recommned purchasing this software program for anyone with toddlers.

Great for learning how to use the mouse, 2001-11-08
My son loves this software and has for about a year. He is only 2 1/2 and can use the mouse to navigate everywhere in this software. It doesn't require the child to "click" on anything, just hover the mouse to select items.
