Great CD and Best Band EVER., 2005-12-10 I LOVE RAMMSTEIN and I love this CD. My favorite songs are Links 2,3,4, Ich Will, Zwitter and Adios. If you like Rammstein or Hard rock check this out.
A very good, but lookalike!, 2005-11-15 This album is very strong and good. The first six songs are very good, but it's all lookalike, the same with the other five songs, the worst song is Reinraus, and the best are Ich Will, Feuer Frei and Sonne. The others are all good, but when listening to the whole cd, it starts boring after Mutter. Keep on rocking!!

Monumental , 2005-11-06 Rammstein's early work (Herzeleid, Sehnsucht) was flat and withouth depth, and the electronics did not fit the music. Their recent stuff (Reise, Reise and Rosenrot) lacks fury. This album has the best of both worlds, easily their best album. It has the militant march and techno rhytms (which I love) of the early stuff, but with a far warmer and deeper sound. And this time, the electronic parts are perfect and match the music. The songwriting has really improved over previous releases, and there are no fillers on this album. All songs are memorable and many simply kill! This album spawned quite a few hitsingles and really launched the band into the mainstream; much like Metallica's Black Album. But no way is this album watered down, like the Black Album was. It is full of fury and really blasts. The only thing that was mellowed a little were the lyrics, maybe matured is a better word. Production is simply perfect; ultraheavy but very clear, warm and roomy. This album, together with System Of A Down's Toxicity, is the best post-2000 MAINSTREAM metal has to offer.
Industrial metal that's as solid as steel, 2005-10-28 Even though they released their debut in 1996, Rammstein weren't very well known in the States until their "Sehnsucht" album spawned the hit single "Du Hast" in 1998. And with "Mutter," this German, industrial-metal group returned to try to reclaim some of that glory.. It doesn't have a song which has the potential to be the next "Du Hast," but it's still a very solid album.
Although there are a couple tracks (the title track and "Nebel") on the mellower side, and "Mein Herz Brennt" features keyboards which almost sound like a church organ, most of "Mutter" is still quite heavy. Till Lindemann's snarls out the vocals over a rhythm section which is about as powerful as they come in industrial metal. "Feuer frei!" and "Spieluhr" both begin with twinkling keyboards, but they are flattened when the hefty, churning riffs kick in, and "Adios" has extra chunky riffs alongside some heavy, sexually charged panting. And, like "Sehnsucht" (and most of Rammstein's other albums), "Mutter" is heavy, but also very catchy and rhythmic. "Zwitter," and "Rein raus" are fairly fast chuggers, and my personal favorite track here, "Links 234," has a super catchy, toe-tapping rhythm.
As said before, "Mutter" doesn't have another "Du Hast," so it probably won't ever be as popular as "Sehnsucht." But it sure should be! This album is brimming with potential and there isn't a single bad song on here. Rammstein may not be breaking down and musical walls, and this album shouldn't win over any non-fans, but it will definitely solidify and satisfy a strong fan base.

Excellent Buy, Despite the Language Gaps, 2005-10-01 Even though I do not speak German and have never been to Germany... I love this CD! Rammstein reminded me that the voice is an instrument, too, with the way the vocals (keep in mind that I do not speak German) make the music even better than before! I do not really care what the lyrics mean in English, because I am SO satisfied with the German tongue. Also, the metal/punk rock-esque music makes for a wonderful blend of music. This CD is a must-have!
