Great Game!, 2005-06-20 Message in a Haunted Mansion is a terrific computer game. Nancy's Housekeeper Hannah, has a friend in San Fransico who has just bought a Victorian Mansion. There are strange happenings going on in the mansion and it's Nancy's job (as always) to find the culprit. Each suspest has a motive and even though I am far in the game I'm still yet to figure out the culprit. There is Abby, the girl who has seances. Then there's Louis, who says he is an antique collecter. Then there's Charley,(I believe that's his name) who is a young, inexperienced handyman.
The plot of this game varies from Victorian Houses to Chinese Writing to Dragons. There is much to learn in this game, but the funny thing is I didn't think of it as learning, just fun.
Anyways, there is much excitement as you travel through the wonderfully designed mansion. (the 3D graphics are amazing) On your way you find trap doors, secret rooms, a seance, a fire, and many misleading and helpful clues.
Another wonderful aspect of this game is the second chance button. (I've used it twice so far) If you encounter something where you are killed or thrown out of the house, you are brought back to the main menu where you can click the 2nd chance button and start at a safe place in the story.
Here are some hints and clues that may help you in the game (don't worry they aren't spoilers)
-Paint scrapers can be used for reasons other than scraping paint -Many things in the story only occur at a certain time(you can change the time in Nancy's bedroom on the alarm clock if needed) -Never leave ANYTHING unlooked
Message in a Haunted Mansion has got to be the greatest computer game I've ever played in my life and it is definitely worth the price and waiting for it to arrive in the mail. (When I'm finished with this one I can't wait to complete all of the rest!)
By the way, this game is great played with two or more people. I am a 12 year old girl and my 4 year old sister loves to watch me play this supenseful game and even help a bit. It's a lot of fun to watch us both scream and jump out of our seats when we hear a woman crying or see a phantom in a mirror.
My first Nancy Drew game, it got me hooked! :), 2005-01-03 Message in a Haunted Mansion is the 3rd game in the Nancy Drew series. It is the first Nancy Drew game that I played. I have since then played 10 out of the 11 total Nancy Drew games. This game is one of my favorites.
Message in a Haunted Mansion takes place in an old Victorian mansion being restored into a Bed and Breakfast. It it the job of you, as girl detective Nancy Drew, to figure out why the recent accidents during remodeling have been taking place. You will meet various life-like characters and discover clues to help you solve the mystery.I recommend this game to anyone who likes mystery, and isn't afraid of a mysterious haunting!

Nancy is a Sneaky Lil' Detective!!, 2004-11-29 This is by far my favorite Nancy Drew game. This was my first game, and it is still a great game. It is very suspensful at times, and it is a good game for beginners. This game is also very sneaky! She is very sneaky in this game, I found, more than the others. It is very very fun, and there is only 1 or 2 really hard puzzles. But, this one is slightly scary. I remember getting scared at one part, so much, that I almost cried. But, at the time, I was about 8, so, that is why. But, overall, this is a very fun game, with a good plot, and great characters. The only thing I hate about this game is the seance. I was very angry that they put that terrible thing in this good, clean game. It is very scary, but, thank goodness, you find out that the seance was not real, and was totally rigged. Good, girls need to know, there is no such thing as connecting with spirts. But, other than that flaw, I would reccomend this game to anyone!!

Even a 6-year old loves it, 2004-11-22 The other reviewers have talked about the quality gameplay. I'll talk about how to play it as an adult with a 6-year old:
* Write down the clues yourself, showing her what you are doing and why.
* Let her explore the mansion. That's the most fun part.
* Read the books and letters out loud. Ask how they might connect to the plot.
* Enjoy many hours with your daughter.
Five stars, easy.
