The torment, 2002-11-04 This game has it. Most sequels to games really blow big time but not this one. The story line is fluid and not at all boring and has kept me down in my basement playing late into the night. I am not a person that is easily impressed by games but thief has kept me very happy. There are even times in the game where i had to get up and walk away because i was shaking. Watch out for the tree beasts "ents" because i stood in front of one until it came to life and it still freaked me out. Its a good thing that invisibility potions are out there because I jumped high in my chair when the thing charged at me. This game is really worth it.
Extremely innovative idea, kudos to Eidos., 2002-09-30 About a year ago my friend showed me a demo of this game. The main reason he wanted to show me was to show me an argument that takes place between some gaurds. It was hilarious! Besides that, there is nothing better than leaping across a huge drop to the streets into somebodies window and robbing them blind in this game. Don't like something they own, throw it in the street. Don't like the person you just picked up, throw 'em in the street! Now realize what I am talking about is the demo(that's right, just a demo). I am still playing this demo and I have not beaten it(I am not that bad at video games either). I must say it was the most satisfying game demo I have ever played. But just so you know, I do not actually own this game, BUT I know I want to buy it right now. The only reason that I have not bought this game before was that I could not find it anywhere. Now that I have found it on Amazon.com I think I just might have to. In this game, you play a thief. You run around a city jumping from roof-top to roof-top with sword or bow in hand. I enjoyed getting in fights with guards because I could have a roof-top sword fight(just awesome). This game has very nice graphics for it's time. I would suggest this game to anyone who needs something fun to do. Try playing it on a winter night with the lights off for an authentic experience. My friend and I have thourougly(sp?) enjoyed the demo, and I suggest that you go and try it yourself. . I hope you are lucky enough to get hooked on the game. Here is a tip, don't read the book in the Necromancer Tower, or do, whatever. Enjoy this game, because I just know everyone out there is going to go dish out 20.00 dollars for this game now. Now if you will excuse me, I'm going to go play the demo some more.
Creaping Figures STRIKE!, 2002-09-16 The game before and this one were both AWESOME and engaging throughout all of my last year in college. I LOVED sneaking around and if someone heard me and came a looking, I could hide and that MIGHT pass right by... then when they found nothing they would walk back assuming there was nothing lurking about, I'd BLACKJACK them from behind HA!!! MORON! My other favorite part of these games was that if you stood around one of the guards you'd hear them complain about their job or recite something from their order of almost a ministry of sorts. "Why do I always have to work in the cold, and the dark, and the damp..."

Best game, 2002-03-20 Thief 2 far outdoes Thief the dark project. It has better graphics, a better stoyline, new weapons, and more challenging enemies for the expert thief. This game goes down as one the most played in my book. You will replay this game over and over. If you liked it as much as I did. This is a fantastic game for the money. If you liked the first thief a little bit you will love this...buy this game and you will never regret it. You can download more levels off some sites if you have already mastered the game. The mod levels are just as detailed as the ones created by looking glass.Buy this game
A masterpiece, 2002-02-20 I immensely enjoyed Thief: The Dark Project, and this game is even better. While it's not so rare in the world of computer gaming for a sequel to be better than the original, the wizards at the now-defunct Looking Glass Studios had their work cut out for them in designing a game that would top the first Thief. All of the enjoyable elements are still here, along with a few new ones. (Garrett's bionic eye which replaced the eye he lost in TDP is especially handy with its zooming capabilities.) Add to this an excellent story and top-notch voice acting, and you've got a very slick game, one of the best available for the PC.
