SOMEONE HELP WITH INFO!, 2004-03-30 could someone PLEASE tell me if this game will run on Windows XP. I want to but it, but have yet to get response from Eidos tech. THANKS!
Best FPS Ever, 2004-01-26 This is one of the most fantastic games i have ever played! One of the biggest pluses is how well you can interact with the environment. Like Counter-Strike, ther are crates you can hide behind, but you can also break them opened and find items. Overall, the only rel flaw I can find, is that the voice acting, and mouth movements are less than perfect. Buy this game.
If you haven't played this game..., 2004-01-23 now's the time to. This is a very revolutionary game that allows you to play it how you wish. Many games have a very linear path to follow, not Deus Ex, you can play the game without killing anyone if you want, or you can outright kill everyone you come across. The game also has 3 endings depending on the choices you make. This is a classic and should be played by any gamer that has any interest in rpg's, first person shooters/sneakers, or just someone in the mood for a good story.

One of the best games of all time, 2003-11-24 Deus Ex is one of those games that has become a legend, it has made history and it is more than deserving of the title "one of the best games of all time"The game takes place in the year 2053 in a world on the verge of collapse; a world where terrorists operate openly, where mega corperations use more and more overt means of crushing the competition, where life is more rugged. Little does anyone know that a secret group is intentionally causing the chaos in an effort to destabilize the power structures of the various countries on earth in order to take over the world. You play JC Denton, the second prototype for the next generation of super agent, augmented by nano technology, and JC works for UNATCO, a branch of the UN designed to fight terrorism. The game is full of plot twists and turns and nothing is as it seems. At one point Paul's brother admits he is working for the enemy, and shortly after, you find out the real enemy is a group called Majestic 12, which also controls the UN and UNATCO and you then join the resistance to fight the tyrannical organization and keep the world free. The game takes you to locales such as New York, Hong Kong, Paris, Vandenberg Air Force Base, a top secret labratory on the West Coast, on the ocean floor, and Area 51. gret efforts were taken to make the locations as authentic as possible. The game's immersiveness and story are unmatched, and the way the game allows you to complete mission objectives in any order and any way possible is truly revolutionary. This is one of those games that will become a classic in years to come and it is already legendary. The graphics are very good; most people consider it drab however the graphics were made with realism in mind and there are many scenic parts. The sound effects are also top notch, and the voice acting is very good: true that some of it was bad, but not all of it. The game play is very good and suprisingly easy to adapt to given its complexity. The AI is also good; true, a bad will not notice a dead body of a fallen comrade, or use advanced tactics against you, but it is very good for its time. The game was optimized for 3D FX Glide, however I had no problem rinnng it on a TNT2 in Direct 3D, and a patch came out which reduces the problem (although it does not completely fix it, you will still get much better framereates than before), and many modern systems, even low end modern systems will run it very good.

Cheat or Time on your hands?, 2003-08-19 First, I really enjoy this game and average about 2 hours per day because, like they say the game has a mind of its own. What I believe is that they game is set to reward stealth and non combat or sniping over a slashing offensive. Even a well conceived line of retreat is frequently thwarted by an inexplicable person with a one shot kill on you at 100 yds. Last night for example I could easily sneak by "Bots", but a "Lam" or high explosive granade at their feet had no effect. Also, a shotgun slug or "sabbot" to the head frequently doesn't kill. The most reliable arm in the game is a high tech sword from behind.(Kills everything but Bots} Another bad feature is you can spend hours to find the game's preferred route or look it up in a walkthrough cheat. Maybe some games are designed to sell books. I am currently cornered in a cathedral courtyard by 2 Bots and various others. TIP save your game after all tough encounters, then continue. Game's not all bad or all good, but all in all entertaining, like being in an action adventure series, or like a wild dream you can shut down at 2:00AM. I hope that the new game Deus-ex II will delete the programmer preferences and allow user selected game style choices. "oh, your're going to be macho? we'll fix you" should be deleted because it defeats even a well conceived attack in favor of hide and sneak. Example: I set of an alarm to draw out 4 guards to a proximity granade "LAM" it goes off killing one 3 attack me. Pick them off one by one with a sniper rifle, no attack. Oh well.
