Great for better printer placement, 2008-01-02
I purchased the Worgroup Switch because I wanted everyone on my home network to be able to use my network-ready All-in-one graphic printer, yet I wanted it next to my machine in the basement. Instead of running another long cable from my router on my second floor, I added the switch near my basement computer and attached the original network cable from my computer to the Workgroup Switch and then added my computer and the printer with short cables to the Workgroup Switch. There were no software modifications required.

I've noticed no slowdown on the network and I'm very happy with the solution.

Very easy to get up and running , 2007-12-31
If you have a wired connection to your router, and want to branch it to other equipment - this works fine, fast and easily. I bought a DHP-301 to bring my router "downstairs" via the electrical system in my house, and then bought this switch to allow multiple connections in my home office. Not only is it doing the job very well, but I was able to install it myself (without paying for a network administrator) - a huge plus. Linksys has come a long way.

    Great Product...but a bit ambiguous, 2007-12-23
This product did the exact task that I bought it for and works great. I used it to allow my cable internet connection to be split between an online game console and my computer. The only negatives I would say about this product are:
1)The image on this website is a bit deceiving in that it makes the product seem bigger than it really is. It is actually only about the size of a deck of cards. I bought it thinking it was bigger. No biggie. (Pun intended.)
    2) The instructions that came with the product were not the easiest to decipher. I actually got the product to do what I wanted it to do through trial and error rather than detailed instructions. Oh well.

In conclusion, the product does what it was designed to do in a discreet and reliable way. End of story.

    Performs as expected, 2007-12-22
This switch works like a charm. I am using it with a USR wireless router to expand the wired capability of the router. It's performs without any problems.

    Quick - easy - works great!, 2007-12-06
Well, plug-in #1, plug-in # 2, plug-in #3, etc. and it WORKS. That's all there is to it. All my computers are now connected to my DSL router. The unit performs transparently, that is - no loss of performance [internet speed] when using ONE computer. When more than one computer is "on," the internet access speed seems to slowdown, since my connection is being "shared." That's expected!
I highly recommend a SWITCH such as this unit over a HUB, because a hub ALWAYS shares [splits] the connection, whereas a switch only shares when multiple computers are actively communicating to the internet. Ya get what I mean, right? I'm semi-computer-illiterate.
