Customer Reviews:

Fantastic for the price, but questionable durability, 2008-11-21
After reading many reviews, I bought these for about $90. They are a great value. They are very comfortable. I considered the Sennheiser 280's, but a lot of reviews mentioned that they they were quite tight on the head. I'm very glad I got these instead of the Sennheisers-they are very lightweight and do not compress the ears too much. I wear headphones all day at work and my ears are often sore, and these are feel great to put on after work and don't bother me too much. They start to bother me after about 2.5-3 hours, which is a lot better than other headphones I have used.

The sound quality is great. I would describe them as punchy, maybe a little too much for some music, even after a good breaking in. I mostly listen to music without vocals, and these are well-suited. I've been most impressed with Jeff Beck's "Cause We've Ended as Lovers" and the "Timewind" album from Klaus Schulze on these, as well as my Woob albums. If you play these through a decent amp and listen to good quality sources (vinyl or lossless electronic formats), I think you will be pleased. My wife does not appreciate music nearly as much as I do, and really does not seem impressed with my very expensive sound system. I think that she would be just as happy listening to music on her stock car stereo. I asked her to give these a try and she did not want to take them off. I've never seen her truly appreciate good sound quality before. You can do better, but I think you would need to spend significantly more.

The only negative point is that I bought them not only for pleasure listening, but also for light bedroom DJ use. I have serious doubts that they are durable enough even for this. I made a grave mistake and sold all my gear earlier this year and am now buying it all back. I used to regularly fall asleep in my DJ headphones, but after trying it one night with these, it really seemed if they could be easily broken. I would never try to bring these on a plane trip unless you are a very careful person. I knew that were designed for home listening but it was still a little disappointing how fragile they seem. However, this is just the negative side of being so light weight and comfy and doesn't deduct from the perfect score I'm giving them.
