NetModem Modem Pooling 3.51
NetModem Modem Pooling description
NetModem Modem Pooling is an advanced client-server software solution that turns any Windows PC into a Modem Server or Serial Device Server. It includes free client redirectors that create virtual COM ports on any PC that needs modem access, and it automaticly connects the clients to the next available modem on the Server PC.
NetModem Modem Pooling allows you to centrilize your phone lines and dial-out equipment, and reduces your monthly phone line costs.
The NetModem Server shares Analog and ISDN modems (internal or external), as well as any other serial device which connects to a COM port.
The NetModem Client software creates virtual serial ports that look like real serial ports for all Windows applications. All data sent to these virtual ports is transferred to the NetModem Server via a TCP/IP network connection and all replies from the real serial port on the server are returned to the Client, providing a seamless and transparent solution.
NetModem Server needs to run on a Windows PC where the modems or other serial devices are installed. A Server version of Windows is not required. It takes only a few minutes to install and configure which COM ports you wish to share, and you can optionally enable user authentication and/or SSL encryption.
NetModem Modem Pooling consists of two components: The NetModem Server Component and the NetModem Client component.
To use NetModem Modem Pooling on your local area network, you should:
Download the NETMODEM.ZIP file from our website and install the one component on the server computer the other on all the client computers.
On The NetModem Server computer, select which COM ports you wish to assign to a modem pool, and you can optionally configure security settings and other properties for this pool.
Run the NetModem Client Configuration on the client computer(s) and create a virtual serial port and tell it the IP address of the server (see the NetModem users guide for more information). You can then install a modem driver on the virtual COM port.
